Campus Experience Crew Member - Student Position

About the role#

The Campus Experience Crew Member (CXC) serves as the welcoming team for the Mohawk Students' Association. This role focuses on fostering an inclusive campus environment by engaging with students, supporting event operations, and maintaining the quality of student-led spaces. This is a 4-month contract position for Summer 2026.

What you'll do#

• Welcome students into Student Centre spaces and help create a friendly, inclusive atmosphere.
• Host campus events, activities, and initiatives while helping students feel informed and comfortable.
• Assist with the setup and teardown of events, including moving furniture, audio-visual equipment, and event supplies.
• Support event execution by assisting staff, vendors, performers, and participants.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of student centre spaces, including tidying furniture and resetting common areas.
• Connect students with appropriate staff to answer questions regarding services and resources.
• Assist in developing and facilitating student-led activities to encourage campus participation.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Mohawk College program.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including daytime and evening hours based on the event calendar.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to speak to groups and engage with students.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting materials up to 50 lbs.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is considered an asset.
• Preferred majors include Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, or Sociology.

Location & details#

• Location: Hamilton, Ontario (On-site at Fennell Campus, with occasional travel to other campuses).
• Term: Summer 2026 (4-month contract).
• Employment Type: Part-time (up to 20 hours per week).
• Compensation: $21/hour.
