About the role#
The Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) Clinical Intern role supports the clinical onboarding of consumers within the Community Access to Recovery Services (CARS) department. This position involves providing technical and quality assistance to CCS branch offices. The role requires a minimum commitment of 16 hours per week for a duration of at least two semesters. Please note that direct clinical hours are not provided for this placement.
What you'll do#
- Perform assessments and screenings for potential CCS referrals via the CCS phone line to determine eligibility and assign to Care Coordination agencies.
- Attend CCS meetings and trainings, including CCS Thursday Staffing, MHP, and All Provider meetings, to gain an understanding of community-based services.
- Conduct audits of charts and paperwork, run reports to support leadership and agencies, and inform staff of outstanding items.
- Assist in the quarterly auditing process.
- Receive ongoing scheduled supervision from a direct supervisor or licensed staff member.
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in Social Work, Rehab Psychology, Human Services, or a closely related field.
- At least one year of experience in Behavioral Health.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to use databases and Electronic Health Records.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid United States Driver’s License and insurance, which must be maintained throughout the internship.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Willingness and ability to travel within the community up to 5% of the time.

- Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Residency: Appointee must establish Wisconsin State residency within six months of appointment and maintain it during the internship.
