Maintenance Technician Intern

About the role#

The Maintenance Technician Intern will gain hands-on experience in multifamily property maintenance. You will assist with property appearance, safety, make-ready processes, preventative maintenance, and repair projects while learning industry best practices under the direction of the Property Manager and Maintenance Supervisor.

What you'll do#

• Assist in overseeing daily maintenance operations and support the timely completion of service requests.
• Participate in preventative maintenance programs for buildings, units, and equipment.
• Assist with unit inspections and make-ready maintenance.
• Identify and report safety concerns, hazardous conditions, and maintenance issues.
• Support curb appeal through property inspections and grounds upkeep.
• Assist with inventory management, supply organization, and maintenance shop cleanliness.
• Monitor pool operations and help maintain health department compliance standards.
• Communicate regularly with maintenance staff and office personnel regarding property needs and work status.
• Assist with snow removal and other property emergency response efforts.

What you'll need#

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, Business, or Environmental Engineering preferred.
• Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
• EPA certification Type I and II, or Universal preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments.
• Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions such as heat, cold, rain, or snow.
