About the role#

This project-focused internship provides hands-on experience in cost optimization, operational process improvement, and data-driven decision-making within a maritime terminal environment. You will support the department by analyzing operational data to identify inefficiencies and develop sustainable, lean solutions. The role culminates in a final presentation of strategic recommendations and projected outcomes.

What you'll do#

• Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual operational data to identify inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to understand usage behaviors and constraints.
• Develop data-supported recommendations aimed at achieving a 30% reduction in overall utility costs.
• Map fuel procurement, storage, and consumption processes to identify waste and improve accountability.
• Assist in the design of an in-house fuel tracking system, including reporting and data management recommendations.
• Prepare summaries, dashboards, and presentations outlining findings, cost-saving opportunities, and projected impacts.
• Participate in team meetings, operational walkthroughs, and site visits while adhering to all safety policies.

What you'll need#

• Current college student or recent college graduate.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize quantitative data.
• Basic understanding of organizing tasks, timelines, and deliverables.
• Strong attention to results and measurable impact.
• Ability to work at heights and in an industrial terminal setting.
• Preferred majors include Data Science, Business Administration, Operations Management, Computer Science, or Environmental Engineering.
