About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to contribute to humanitarian efforts through geospatial analysis and data science. Working with the T4D team, you will support the organization in enhancing its geospatial operations, tools, and data structures. This role is a part-time, remote position for the Fall 2026 term, requiring 20 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Support the rollout of an ArcGIS Enterprise pilot, including data population and the development of training materials.
- Develop maps, visualizations, and analyses to support the Ebola response team.
- Conduct ad-hoc spatial analyses and create map products for reports and monitoring using desktop software like QGIS or ArcGIS.
- Utilize Python and Google Earth Engine to support programmatic geospatial workflows.
- Research and report on new geospatial tools, data sources, and resources.
- Develop AI-enabled workflows to automate periodic geospatial analysis.
What you'll need#
- A university degree in progress or recently completed in GIS, Geography, Remote Sensing, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
- Educational experience with geospatial analysis using GIS software such as QGIS or ArcGIS.
- Practice with geospatial programming in Python or Google Earth Engine.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT for use in geospatial workflows.
- Ability to communicate complex technical topics to a non-technical audience.
- Understanding of geospatial data formats, projections, and structures.

- This position is fully remote and open to applicants based in the United States.
- The internship term runs from August 2026 through December 2026.
- This is a paid, part-time position at 20 hours per week.
