Manufacturing Quality Control Co-op Student

About the role#

Magellan Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Control Co-op Student for the Fall 2026 term, with the possibility of an extension up to 12 months. This role supports quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives within an aerospace manufacturing environment. You will assist in maintaining documentation, monitoring performance metrics, and collaborating across departments to ensure compliance with industry standards.

What you'll do#

• Maintain accurate quality records, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action documentation.
• Prepare quality performance metrics and present findings to management to support continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues.
• Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance product reliability and reduce defects.
• Track and report on supplier quality performance and initiate necessary corrective actions.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment or degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
• Experience with inspection techniques within aerospace manufacturing.
• Ability to lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Familiarity with inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers; CMM exposure is considered an asset.
• Ability to work effectively in highly regulated, safety-critical environments.
