Maintenance Intern

About the role#

As a Maintenance Intern at Lesaffre, you will support the maintenance and repair of plant electrical equipment and control instruments. You will assist the Electrical/Instrumentation Supervisor with the construction and installation of plant modifications and equipment additions, ensuring all work aligns with company safety standards.

What you'll do#

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment.
• Install, assemble, and test new equipment and machinery.
• Inspect systems to identify wear, damage, or potential failures.
• Replace defective components, including bearings, belts, motors, pumps, valves, and gears.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and coordinate with production and engineering teams.
• Log daily activities and work order reports in the database.
• Ensure full compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

What you'll need#

• Currently working toward an Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to use complex test equipment to diagnose electrical problems.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding PLC logic and electrical diagrams or schematics.
• Ability to read equipment manuals and use troubleshooting guides.
• Willingness to use a computer daily for documentation and communication.
• Ability to operate forklifts, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
