Maintenance Intern

About the role#

The Maintenance Intern role at Lesaffre provides hands-on experience in a food and beverage manufacturing environment. This position involves maintaining and repairing plant electrical equipment, control instruments, and assisting with electrical modifications or installations. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.

What you'll do#

• Maintain and repair plant electrical equipment, including motors, control panels, VFD units, and refrigeration systems.
• Calibrate and repair plant instrumentation such as pH probes, flow meters, and pressure transmitters.
• Conduct daily plant rounds to check critical instruments and perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot equipment using PLC interface software.
• Assist with electrical upgrade projects, including control panel construction and conduit routing.
• Document maintenance activities, preventive maintenance tasks, and work orders in the company database.
• Assist the mechanical maintenance department with repairs and adjustments as needed.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to read and interpret PLC logic, electrical diagrams, and schematics.
• Proficiency in using a computer for daily tasks, including communication and database logging.
• Ability to operate forklifts, man lifts, production equipment, and power tools (training will be provided).
• Capability to handle critical decision-making and manage mental stress during occasional extended work hours.
