About the role#
This is a full-time Mechanical Engineer Intern or Co-op position for the Fall 2026 term. This role provides hands-on training in mechanical, HVAC, and energy design for building projects. Interns work alongside designers and professional engineers to develop project aspects and gain experience in the consulting engineering field.
What you'll do#
- Produce detailed layouts and equipment details for HVAC systems.
- Create one-line diagrams and schematics.
- Assist the design team in assembling organized sets of construction drawings.
- Support data collection and field verification efforts.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to develop all aspects of building projects.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
- Strong interest in building systems mechanical engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with AutoCAD and REVIT is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Annapolis, Maryland.
- The role is an on-site position requiring 40 hours per week.
- The term begins in August 2026 and continues through the Fall 2026 semester.
- Local travel for job site inspections and field work may be required.
- This position is paid and does not offer visa sponsorship.
