Co-op - Mechanical Engineering Fall 2026

About the role#

This is a full-time, paid mechanical engineering co-op position for the Fall 2026 term. The program integrates academic study with work-based learning, requiring an alternating rotating 3-semester schedule. Candidates should be undergraduate students with an expected graduation date of 2027 or later to accommodate the rotation.

What you'll do#

• Perform mechanical system and component design using solid modeling CAD tools under the guidance of a supervisor.
• Create detailed drawings of parts and assemblies.
• Calculate and lay out dimensions, angles, curvature, and material specifications for parts.
• Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
• Coordinate with suppliers to procure, deliver, and implement designs.

What you'll need#

• Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
• Completion of, or current enrollment in, an engineering graphics CAD course.
• Proficiency in Windows applications, including Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail.

Location & details#

• Location: Lafayette, Indiana.
• Work Modality: On-site, approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
• Note: No housing stipend or assistance is provided.
