About the role#
Lactalis American Group is seeking a Sensory Science Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Buffalo, New York. The role focuses on supporting sensory scientists with sample preparation, data management, and the execution of sensory evaluation sessions.
What you'll do#
- Assist sensory scientists in preparing samples for sensory tests.
- Travel to various stores to obtain commercially available dairy products for expert panels and tastings.
- Organize sensory evaluation sessions, including managing materials, samples, and ballots.
- Support the recruitment and training of new sensory expert panelists.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the Lactalis Passion for Taste program.
- Execute sensory tests, perform data entry and analysis, and prepare reports.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in a scientific field such as Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture, Nutrition, or Data Science.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- A valid driver’s license is required for travel to collect samples.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Previous experience in sensory testing, setup, and result interpretation is a plus.
- An interest in Sensory Science is preferred.
