Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

This is a paid, full-time Pharmacy Intern position for Summer 2026. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge and experience required for future licensure. The role involves assisting professional staff with prescription processing, patient counseling, and pharmacy operations while adhering to company policies and regulatory standards.

What you'll do#

• Receive training on pharmacy staff functions, operations, and management practices.
• Observe experienced personnel to learn methods, procedures, and performance standards for Pharmacist duties.
• Assist in triaging, processing, and delivering prescriptions, ensuring every prescription is checked by a pharmacist before dispensing.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including processing orders, checking for expired items, and managing returns.
• Handle third-party claims submission and resubmission.
• Maintain manual records, patient confidentiality, and professional relationships with healthcare providers.
• Stay current on pharmacy developments and regulatory requirements.
• Perform Pharmacy Clerk duties as needed.

What you'll need#

• Completion of at least the first year of professional coursework at an approved School of Pharmacy.
• A valid, limited Intern permit to practice under the immediate supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Reliability regarding scheduled work shifts.
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern is preferred.
• Ability to pass a drug test and ongoing monitoring for sanctions or disciplinary actions.
