Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

This Summer 2026 Pharmacy Intern position provides hands-on training within the pharmacy department. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge and experience required for future licensure. The role focuses on understanding pharmacy operations, staff functions, and company policies while assisting professional staff in the triaging, processing, and delivery of prescriptions.

What you'll do#

• Receive training to become familiar with pharmacy operations, management practices, and company policies.
• Observe experienced staff to learn methods, procedures, and performance standards for Pharmacist duties.
• Ensure every prescription is checked by a pharmacist before it is dispensed to the patient.
• Follow all State and Federal guidelines governing the practice of pharmacy.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including transmitting, processing, and receiving orders from the warehouse and other suppliers.
• Assist with third-party claims, check inventory for outdates, process returns, and maintain manual records.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and develop professional relationships with healthcare providers.

What you'll need#

• Successful completion of the first year of professional course work at an approved School of Pharmacy.
• A valid, limited Intern permit to practice pharmacy under the immediate personal supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Punctuality and availability for all scheduled work shifts.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern is preferred.
