About the role#
The Accounting Assistant Co-op will support a mix of accounting and administrative tasks within the construction industry. This position involves working closely with the operations team to maintain financial records and ensure accurate reporting.
What you'll do#
- Assist with month-end financial reporting.
- Maintain and reconcile financial accounts on a monthly or quarterly basis.
- Support the operations team by answering account inquiries.
- Prepare and submit tax payments.
- Perform accounts receivable and accounts payable entry.
- Apply cash receipts to customer accounts.
- Review vendor invoices for taxability.
- Provide backup coverage for the front desk.
- Handle physical filing and boxing of records.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Math, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Strong organization and prioritization skills.
- Ability to be an adaptable and flexible team player.
- Previous experience in an administrative or accounting role is considered a plus.
