Accounting Co-op Student - Financial Reporting

About the role#

This is a paid, full-time Accounting Co-op position within the Finance department. You will work on-site at our Toronto office, gaining practical experience in accounting, forecasting, and budgeting. This role is designed for students seeking to complement their academic studies with real-world financial reporting tasks.

What you'll do#

• Utilize SAP/S4 HANA for tasks including monthly data downloads.
• Validate financial statement information for Canadian and international subsidiaries for management reporting packages.
• Post journal entries as required in SAP/S4 HANA.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of forecast files at the department, company, and consolidated levels.
• Prepare monthly prepaid and accrual accounts in SAP/S4 HANA.
• Assist with balance sheet preparation and reconciliations for all companies.
• Prepare monthly facilities internal order reports and analyze cost element variances.
• Support the Finance team and CFO with accounting projects and audit information requests.

What you'll need#

• Current full-time enrollment in a post-secondary undergraduate program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Economics that requires a co-op placement.
• Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel tools, including Power Query and VBA.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
