    About the role#

    The Service Department Intern role at JX Truck Center is a part-time apprentice program designed for students. Working under the direction of the Service Manager, you will assist with the daily operations of the shop. This position offers a flexible schedule to accommodate summer and school commitments.

    What you'll do#

    • Maintain overall shop cleanliness, including cleaning bays and managing waste.
    • Deliver parts to shop technicians with speed and efficiency.
    • Maneuver trucks into and out of the shop as directed by Service Advisors.
    • Assist in tasks that improve technician proficiency and overall shop efficiency.
    • Interact with customers in a diplomatic and courteous manner.

    What you'll need#

    • General mechanical knowledge or aptitude.
    • A valid driver’s license.
    • Ability to drive a forklift.
    • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
    • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
    • Pursuing studies in Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or Logistics.

    • Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan.
    • Term: Summer 2026.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour, based on experience.
