This Manufacturing Engineer Intern position focuses on the development and standardization of manufacturing and assembly processes. You will work directly on the production floor to observe, understand, and document assembly steps into clear, effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role provides hands-on experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, where your work will directly impact training, safety, and operational performance.
What you'll do#
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Collaborate directly with assemblers and production leads to learn and document real-time assembly processes.
- Translate hands-on work into clear, structured instructions for training and daily operations.
- Document tools, materials, process steps, and quality checkpoints.
- Capture photos and visual aids to enhance the clarity and usability of documentation.
- Validate procedures with production teams to ensure accuracy and practicality.
- Incorporate safety requirements and PPE standards into all documentation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and standardization.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
- A genuine interest in manufacturing, production systems, and hands-on engineering work.
- Comfort working in a production environment alongside hourly employees.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
