R&D Co-Op

About the role#

The R&D Co-Op position is based at the Research & Development department in Marysville, Michigan, which supports all IPG manufacturing plants. This role involves investigating new technologies, developing new products, and improving existing product lines. Students work under the management of an R&D Chemist on various projects and utilize the site's pilot manufacturing, testing capabilities, and analytical instruments.

What you'll do#

• Conduct research and development on new product initiatives.
• Improve existing products and reverse engineer competitor products.
• Perform various tests within the laboratory environment.
• Collect data in lab notebooks and input information into computer systems.
• Participate in pilot manufacturing and product testing.
• Work on special projects as assigned by the R&D Chemist.
• Investigate new technologies and potential product designs.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment or background in fields such as Chemistry, Mathematics, Business Administration, or Physics.
• Ability to work on-site in a laboratory and manufacturing setting.
• Attention to detail for data collection and documentation.
