Industrial Engineer Intern

About the role#

This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2026, lasting 12-16 weeks. You will work on-site in Sandersville, Georgia, focusing on operational excellence and process improvement within our manufacturing facilities.

What you'll do#

• Refine existing Control Plans for mill #2 and #3 to standardize process and quality control systems.
• Develop a robust decision tree for mill #3 that prioritizes quality, productivity, and equipment preservation, with potential application for automated process control using machine learning tools.
• Create new work instructions for activities previously identified as causes for quality complaints.
• Learn to utilize quality tools for developing control plans and related documentation.
• Apply academic knowledge to identify and implement operational improvements that contribute to I3 savings, with support from plant staff.

What you'll need#

• Current pursuit of a degree in Industrial Engineering, Management, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a collaborative approach to challenges.
• Proven leadership experience in school organizations, sports, or previous work projects.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
