HEALTHY HOMES PATHWAYS INTERN

About the role#

The Healthy Homes Department is seeking an intern to support community health initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience in public health program development, service delivery, and community engagement. You will assist with project coordination, data support, and communications while gaining exposure to real-world public health practice. Interns also have the opportunity to shadow other areas within Environmental Health and the Marion County Public Health Department.

What you'll do#

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing project timelines and tasks.
• Collaborate with community partners by facilitating meetings and identifying project deliverables.
• Interpret data analysis results to support public health practice, research, or policy.
• Apply audience-specific communication strategies to share information and analysis results.
• Communicate public health content through both written reports and oral presentations.
• Discuss factors that impact community health.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a degree program, preferably with an MPH concentration.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to legally work in the United States.

• Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Term: Summer 2026.
• Status: Full-time, paid internship.
• Note: This is a driving position that may require a significant portion of work time to be performed outside of the base office.
