Mechanical Design Engineer Intern

About the role#

H3X Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer Intern for the Fall 2026 semester to support the development of the HPDM product line. This full-time, on-site role provides the opportunity to take ownership of mechanical design tasks within a small engineering team. The internship requires a minimum commitment of 12 weeks, with the possibility of extension based on availability.

What you'll do#

• Establish and document technical requirements.
• Design parts and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Compile complete Bills of Materials for product development.
• Create Design Validation Plans and Reports (DVP&R) for new products and subsystems.
• Integrate sub-systems into full systems.
• Conceptualize designs, generate engineering drawings, and perform mechanical analyses.
• Support prototype builds, supply chain sourcing, and testing execution.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Hands-on experience assembling mechanical systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals and a results-driven approach.
