The Small Tools Intern supports the small tools department manager with field operations, inventory control, and customer service. This role is essential for maintaining efficient operations by managing equipment stock, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring that tools are ready for project use.
What you'll do#
- Maintain inventory levels, manage material orders, and handle shipping and receiving functions.
- Coordinate the delivery of materials and tools to field sites to meet project schedules.
- Perform periodic maintenance on small tools equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Communicate daily with management and maintain accurate records and invoices for parts.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely receipt of goods.
- Facilitate a safety-first attitude and ensure all company safety standards are met.
- Coordinate mechanical support for the field to minimize equipment downtime.
- Provide pick-up and delivery services for tools and supplies, including vehicle inspections.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at an accredited institution of higher learning.
- High School diploma.
- Preferred majors include Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Environmental Engineering, or Logistics.
- 0-3 years of progressive experience in a small tools environment is preferred.
- General understanding of parts, inventory, ordering, and construction processes.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical aptitude.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- Basic computer skills.

- Employment Type: Full-time, paid internship.
- Compensation: Base hourly wage range of $18.00 to $20.00, depending on experience, skills, and education.
