Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op

About the role#

The Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op will work alongside the engineering team to develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods. This role focuses on optimizing production through the design of production aids, jigs, and fixtures, while gaining hands-on experience with tooling and assembly processes. You will contribute to continuous improvement by capturing production data and supporting safety and quality initiatives.

What you'll do#

• Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow to design efficient equipment layouts.
• Develop and implement recommendations for tool redesigns and changes to materials or methods.
• Research manufacturing trends and new technologies to recommend process improvements.
• Investigate manufacturing problems and propose effective solutions.
• Facilitate Lean Manufacturing initiatives and participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Investigate and prepare requests for capital improvements.
• Review health, safety, and environmental standards.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as an Engineering or Engineering Technology student.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CAD software (Solidworks and/or AutoCAD).
• Ability to independently move about the factory and lift up to 50 pounds.
