About the role#
The Research Associate Intern will join a multi-disciplinary team to support research projects focused on hit to lead or lead optimization against novel drug targets. This position involves performing organic synthesis and contributing to the library synthesis of compounds for the research collection. The intern will work both independently and collaboratively, reporting directly to the Department Director or assigned supervisors.
What you'll do#
- Perform organic synthesis for research projects.
- Contribute to the library synthesis of compounds for the research compound collection.
- Collaborate on projects with partner companies.
- Report progress and findings to the Department Director.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college pursuing a major in Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related science-based field.
- Hands-on experience in multi-step organic synthesis, purification, and structural characterization.
- Proficiency in modern chromatographic techniques, including flash chromatography, preparative scale HPLC, and LCMS.
- Experience with parallel synthesis or solid phase chemistry.
- Eligibility to receive academic credit for this internship.
