For-Credit Merchandising Intern – Hospitality (Fall 2026)

About the role#

This is a credit-based, full-time internship with the Genesis Hospitality division of Genesis Global Group. The intern will support the Director of Business Development on projects related to product development, design, and management within the retail and hospitality sectors.

What you'll do#

• Assist with the conceptualization, branding, manufacturing, and merchandising of a new retail product line for a French bakery.
• Research market and competitor pricing to provide insights for marketing and pricing strategies.
• Track product inventory and analyze sales reports to identify improvement opportunities.
• Create and update training manuals for bakery employees.
• Coordinate with the Marketing department to develop product branding, advertising, and retail layout planning.
• Participate in meetings with international vendors.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited college pursuing a major in Business Administration, International Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or a similar field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organizational, multi-tasking, and detail-oriented skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
• Chinese language skills are considered a plus.
• Must be able to receive academic credit for this internship.
