Multimedia Content Creator, Sports Internship

About the role#

USA TODAY High School Sports is seeking Multimedia Content Creators to join our internship program in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. This role focuses on bringing local high school athletics to life through authentic, social-first storytelling. You will capture the stories of student-athletes, teams, and their communities, producing content that highlights the passion and culture of high school sports.

What you'll do#

• Film and edit short-form video content for platforms including TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
• Craft written stories and profiles featuring local high school athletes.
• Capture authentic moments, interviews, and facility recaps at high school sporting events, practices, and community settings.
• Produce creative, engaging clips that align with USA TODAY brand standards.
• Stay current with social media trends, audio, and formats to suggest authentic content strategies.

What you'll need#

• Must be a high school student, college student, or recent graduate with access to local high school sports coverage.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Passion for video creation with the ability to tell a compelling story in 60–90 seconds.
• Proficiency in filming and editing short-form video directly on a mobile device.
• Ability to work independently and comfort with being on camera or coaching others.
• Availability during afternoons and evenings to cover games and events.
• Reliable transportation to travel to off-site assignments and athletic events.
• Majors in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, Graphic Design, or Marketing are preferred.
