The Director of Career and Co-op leads employer engagement efforts for the automotive technology, construction management, and opticianry programs. This role is responsible for securing student placements, generating employer revenue, and driving career outcomes for students and graduates. You will manage departmental staff, oversee the co-op and apprenticeship program, and ensure operational excellence through effective systems and cross-functional collaboration.
What you'll do#
- Lead relationship management with employers in automotive, construction management, and opticianry, including prospecting, cultivating, and stewarding partnerships.
- Ensure successful placement of co-op and apprenticeship students and connect graduating students to career opportunities.
- Manage the Associate Director of Career and Co-op and the Temporary Career and Co-op Specialist.
- Build strong relationships with academic chairs to stay familiar with the curriculum and attend regular meetings to align career services with academic goals.
- Oversee the rollout and implementation of the Jenzabar enterprise information system, including the Communications and Advancement modules.
- Develop annual plans for the expansion of co-op and apprenticeship programs.
What you'll need#
- Associate’s degree or higher.
- 10+ years of work experience at high-performance organizations.
- 5+ years of management experience.
- 5+ years of sales experience, preferably working with employers.
- Experience with a Student Information System (SIS) or complex CRM such as Salesforce or Jenzabar.
- Proven skills in relationship-building, systems-building, and project management.
Location & details#
- Location: Boston, Massachusetts.
- Work Modality: On-site (minimum of four days a week at the Boston campus).
- Schedule: Standard hours are 9am to 5pm, with occasional evening events and travel to employer sites 2-3 times per month.
- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $90,000 - $105,000, depending on experience.
