Actuarial COOP – ALM Team (8 Month Contract, Fall + Winter terms)

About the role#

This 8-month Actuarial COOP position within the Asset Liability Management (ALM) team offers exposure to financial modeling, solvency requirements, valuation, and management reporting. You will work across Canada, U.S., and U.K. markets, gaining experience with comprehensive financial systems and a variety of actuarial and reporting software.

What you'll do#

• Support ALM and Risk functions by evaluating strategic and tactical proposals, performing sensitivity analysis, and assisting with Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) activities.
• Improve documentation, model governance, and model risk management practices for ALM models.
• Collaborate with Corporate Actuarial, Capital Management, Pricing, Risk, Investments, Finance, and IT teams.
• Assist in the development and implementation of changes to ALM reporting processes.
• Support the preparation of the annual Appointed Actuary Report.

What you'll need#

• Current undergraduate student in an actuarial program actively writing actuarial exams.
• Strong analytical and technical skills with excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in GGY Axis and Excel.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with Hyperion, Power BI, and Microstrategy is considered an asset.

• Location: Toronto, Ontario.
• Term: 8-month contract covering Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 terms.
• Work Modality: Hybrid, with 2 days per week required in the Toronto office.
• Status: Full-time.
