Co-op Student (Construction)

About the role#

FlatironDragados is seeking a Co-op Student for a construction-focused role in Mississauga, Ontario. This position is available for 4, 8, or 12-month terms starting in January 2026. This is a paid, full-time, on-site opportunity.

What you'll do#

• Participate in preliminary estimates and project details specifically for Municipal Infrastructure.
• Perform design calculations and review plans to ensure compliance with code requirements and project guidelines.
• Assist in client relationship management by defining needs and explaining technical concepts or study results.
• Produce statements of quantities and prepare budget assessments.
• Verify and complete requests for proposals (RFPs), estimates, and technical documentation.
• Draft or proofread proposal sections and prepare documents for submittal.
• Support the project manager and perform related tasks to facilitate project completion.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a high level of initiative and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
• Knowledge or experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Heavy Bid is considered an asset.
• Experience or knowledge in the design of municipal infrastructure projects or engineering consulting is preferred.
