This is a full-time, paid Summer 2026 Engineering Co-Op position. Participants join the Co-op/Intern Professional Development Program, which provides a personalized development plan, on-the-job training, and challenging assignments. You will work during regular business hours and are expected to dedicate your full attention to the role. You will also participate in mandatory program events, engage in performance feedback, and present your project contributions to leadership at the end of the session.
What you'll do#
- Support engineers in developing or maintaining engineering programs, including revising procedures, completing analytics, updating applications, performing field walk downs, and verifying program inputs.
- Assist with engineering studies, analysis, and design related to transmission planning, protection, operations, and system maintenance.
- Support the development of system equipment models, protection specifications, and investigations into transmission system relay events.
- Assist in creating transmission line and substation design packages.
- Support substation maintenance strategies and investigate reliability or performance issues.
- Develop summary reports and presentations to document and communicate engineering analysis, results, and recommendations.
- Provide analytical and technical support for the development of the 5-year capital project portfolio.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to implement projects within the transmission capital project portfolio.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a four-year accredited degree program in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better.
- Ability to work without sponsorship, now or in the future.
- Willingness to relocate to or reside near the reporting location for the duration of the assignment.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments while complying with safety procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently or within a team with minimal supervision.
- A commitment to a minimum of two co-op rotations is preferred.
- Sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate level standing is strongly preferred.
