Summer Intern

About the role#

The Summer Intern program at First Insurance Company of Hawaii provides high school and college students with practical experience and professional networking opportunities. This is a full-time, eight-week temporary position designed to support various departments and gain exposure to the insurance industry.

What you'll do#

• Support initiatives within the Small Business Unit, including Property rate and valuation projects and Condo/AOAO underwriting reviews.
• Assist with administrative, analytical, and project-based tasks.
• Review documentation for completeness and support underwriters with research and project coordination.
• Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

What you'll need#

• Current pursuit of a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or Accounting.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to work effectively with data and spreadsheets.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to complete tasks accurately and on time.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn quickly, follow instructions, and work independently.
