Product Data Strategy and Operations Intern

About the role#

F. Schumacher & Co. is implementing a new Product Information Management (PIM) system to centralize and streamline product data. This internship focuses on the data cleanup, entry, and validation work necessary for a successful system launch. You will work directly with the product, portfolio development, and technology teams on this high-visibility initiative, reporting to the Product Management Team. Your objective is to improve attribute completeness and accuracy across the catalog while establishing repeatable processes.

What you'll do#

• Clean, standardize, and enrich product attributes in the PIM system for a catalog of 20,000+ SKUs, including fabric, wallcovering, trim, and furniture.
• Review and validate data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency against established standards.
• Reconcile product data across source systems to identify and flag discrepancies.
• Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to source missing information and confirm data accuracy.
• Partner with Portfolio Development, Design, and Data teams to resolve data gaps.
• Utilize Excel-based taxonomy and classification templates to support data preparation.

What you'll need#

• Proficiency in Excel, specifically with large datasets, lookups (VLookup/XLookup), pivot tables, filtering, and deduplication.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
• Ability to follow detailed process documentation and clearly flag exceptions.
• A pattern-spotter mindset with the ability to identify discrepancies and propose improvements.
• Clear, professional written communication skills.
• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, Marketing, or Logistics.
