Intern Pharmacy - PT - Varied Shift

About the role#

This position is a training role at Erie County Medical Center Corporation designed to provide practical experience in the interpretation, compounding, and dispensing of pharmaceutical preparations. You will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a hospital setting.

What you'll do#

• Assist licensed pharmacists with the interpretation, compounding, and dispensing of medications.
• Manufacture and package pharmaceuticals while maintaining accurate records.
• Prepare drugs and document activities under direct supervision.
• Review drug literature to identify potential patient incompatibilities.
• Conduct physical pharmacy inventory and maintain necessary records.
• Assist with nursing unit inspections and the distribution of medications to nursing units.

What you'll need#

• A valid Pharmacy Limited (Intern) Permit issued by the New York State Department of Education, which must be maintained throughout the appointment.
• Strong knowledge of the principles, procedures, and terminology of pharmaceutical science.
• Ability to perform professional pharmaceutical tasks with high accuracy.
• Proficiency in maintaining pharmacy records and preparing reports.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
