About the role#
The Environmental League of Massachusetts (ELM) Action Fund is seeking current undergraduate or graduate students for the Fall 2026 Campaign and Advocacy Fellowship. This program engages students in environmental policy and political campaigns to help elect climate champions and advance environmental advocacy in Massachusetts. Fellows report to the Campaign and Advocacy Manager.
What you'll do#
- Campaign for endorsed candidates through door knocking and phone banking.
- Manage electoral data.
- Conduct policy and political research, including reading and summarizing legislation.
- Attend events with ELM and ELM Action Fund staff, such as political fundraisers, State House briefings, and policy roundtables.
What you'll need#
- Demonstrated commitment to environmental advocacy and environmental justice.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively and as a self-starter.
- Comfort talking to voters on the phone and in person.
- Strong research, data management, and note-taking skills.
- Experience in community organizing, political campaigns, or customer service is considered a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Boston, Massachusetts.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with some nights and weekends required.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September through November).
- Commitment: 15 to 20 hours per week.
- Compensation: $18 per hour.
