About the role#

The Emerson Manufacturing High School Intern Program is a summer opportunity for students interested in pursuing a career in the manufacturing industry. This program provides hands-on experience and insight into the daily operations of an automation machinery manufacturing environment.

What you'll do#

Interns will work full-time during the summer months, typically from mid-June to mid-August. You will be expected to adhere to standard professional hours of 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, though occasional work outside these hours may be requested. Employment in the manufacturing plant requires the use of safety equipment, including safety shoes, glasses, and hearing protection. Emerson provides a reimbursement of up to $100 toward the purchase of steel-toe shoes.

What you'll need#

• Must be entering your Junior or Senior year of high school in the fall and be at least 16 years of age.
• A minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Demonstrated good attendance.
• Proficiency in basic mathematics.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Some shop experience or technical coursework is preferred.
• Successful completion of a post-offer, pre-employment drug screening (guardian consent required).
• Ability to present documentation for I-9 employment eligibility verification on the first day.
