Metering Student

About the role#

Elexicon Energy is seeking a Metering Student for a 6-month contract based in Whitby, Ontario. This role reports to the Metering Supervisor and offers exposure to daily operations, cross-functional interactions, and regulatory compliance within the utility sector.

What you'll do#

• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues to provide a professional customer experience.
• Perform daily administrative and clerical tasks, including data entry, record maintenance, and filing.
• Support the Metering Supervisor with coordinating service connections, scheduling appointments, and dispatching work.
• Monitor metering systems and tools, including the Customer Information System, Advanced Metering Infrastructure, and Workforce Management systems.
• Maintain spreadsheets and records for metering activities, inventory, repairs, and regulatory reporting.
• Coordinate meter dispute processes and communicate findings to management.
• Liaise with customers, contractors, and internal departments such as Billing and Distribution Services.
• Assist with the maintenance of company vehicles and equipment and deliver notices as required.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a College or University post-secondary program, preferably in Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with customers.
• A valid Class 'G' driver's license is considered an asset.
