We are looking for a Prototype & Test Engineering intern to join our hardware engineering team. You will support the development of a new electromechanical product by building prototypes, conducting critical tests, and performing failure analysis on integrated hardware and software systems. This is an on-site role based in San Francisco, with an expected duration of 8-10 weeks.
What you'll do#
- Build and test complex electromechanical systems, including sensors, pumps, and electronics.
- Collaborate with the product team to deploy systems to real users.
- Partner with sensor, mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams to review sensor data and field feedback.
- Identify the root cause of issues and determine corrective actions.
- Reproduce and characterize failure cases on the bench to validate corrective actions.
- Track and report findings from troubleshooting to the engineering and product teams.
What you'll need#
- A BS or expected BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Biomedical Engineering, or an equivalent field (MS preferred).
- Hands-on experience with prototyping mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with lab and diagnostic tools, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and command-line utilities to debug hardware-firmware systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to occasionally lift or push up to 50 lbs.

- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Modality: On-site, 5 days per week.
- Compensation: $30 – $35 per hour.
- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Term: Rolling, 8-10 weeks.
