About the role#
The Graphic Design Internship at ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain offers students a chance to apply creative skills in a professional museum setting. This part-time role focuses on helping to tell the story of the museum through visual media, supporting the institution's mission to inspire interest in scientific discovery and the care of Lake Champlain. Interns will work 15 hours per week during the fall semester.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Creative Director and Graphic Designer with projects including marketing materials, flyers, advertisements, social media graphics, logos, and exhibit signage.
- Create unique content using various media such as animation, illustration, photography, and videography.
- Collaborate with the social media team to research, create, and share engaging content.
- Photograph or film ECHO events and programs.
What you'll need#
- Completed coursework or demonstrated skills in design and typography.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Experience with photography, videography, and animation.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation.
- Ability to work on a PC computer.
- A strong interest in museums, science education, and environmental topics.
