About the role#
The Communications and Student Engagement Coordinator executes and manages initiatives that support student recruitment, retention, and success. This role bridges strategy and execution, ensuring all engagement efforts align with institutional priorities and data-informed practices.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate and execute college-level communications, including newsletters, email correspondence, and social media content.
- Plan and implement student engagement and belonging initiatives to support retention goals.
- Serve as a primary liaison with internal stakeholders, including Advancement, Financial Aid, Student Involvement, and Alumni Relations.
- Produce narrative reports for leadership using standardized data sources.
- Maintain accurate website content and track engagement activity data using systems like Smartsheet.
- Coordinate events, info sessions, and recruitment activities, including occasional evening or weekend work.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, Writing, or Communications.
- Three or more years of experience in development, advancement, or alumni relations programs within higher education.
- Exemplary oral and written communication skills and excellent organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in managing databases, financial information, and office software, including the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work independently, manage sensitive information confidentially, and handle multiple tasks under pressure.
