Product Engineering Co-op/Intern - 1st Shift

About the role#

Dayton-Phoenix Group offers a co-op/internship position for students to gain professional experience in the railroad equipment manufacturing industry. This role is a full-time, on-site, paid position based in Dayton, Ohio.

What you'll do#

• Create or revise engineering documentation, including engineering changes.
• Collect data from the quality system regarding non-conforming parts and create trend line charts.
• Investigate obsolete parts to identify new suppliers.
• Set up test rigs in the engineering lab and gather data.
• Support the production floor and assist other engineers with daily tasks.

What you'll need#

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Currently pursuing an education in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organization, time-management, and multitasking abilities.
• Strong creative problem-solving skills and the ability to make independent decisions.
• Strong listening and interpersonal skills.

• Shift: 1st Shift.
• Requirements: Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including ANSI-approved safety glasses and steel-toe shoes. The role involves physical activity, including standing, walking, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.
