Accounting Co-op/Intern - 1st Shift

About the role#

The Accounting Intern joins the Corporate Finance team to support accounting operations for a multi-site manufacturing organization. This position provides hands-on experience in core accounting functions, specifically within Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, while offering exposure to financial reporting and manufacturing accounting. This role reports directly to the Corporate Controller.

What you'll do#

• Apply customer payments received via lockbox, ACH, wire transfer, and credit card to customer accounts.
• Prepare, process, and distribute customer invoices accurately and on time.
• Monitor customer invoicing portals to research and resolve submission or rejection issues.
• Enter vendor invoices into the accounting system and reconcile vendor statements.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, account reconciliations, and various accounting projects.
• Support the finance team with data entry, reporting, and analysis while maintaining accurate financial records.
• Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve accounting inquiries.

What you'll need#

• Current pursuit of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professionalism, integrity, and a willingness to learn.
