About the role#
The Exhibition and Program Assistant Fellow supports exhibitions, public programs, educational initiatives, communications, and visitor engagement for the Van Every/Smith Galleries. Working closely with the Director/Curator, this position serves as a liaison between the galleries, campus partners, visiting artists, and community audiences to facilitate the logistical execution of exhibitions and public events.
What you'll do#
- Assist with exhibition logistics, including shipping, installation, deinstallation, art handling, and lighting.
- Coordinate logistics for incoming exhibition loans with the Collection Coordinator.
- Document, archive, and post programs and artist lectures through photography and video.
- Coordinate in-house promotional materials, including designing posters and exhibition guides.
- Update the website and assist with the development of social media content.
- Assist in coordinating logistics for public events, such as receptions, artist visits, and lectures.
- Manage gallery operations, including coordinating intern schedules and maintaining exhibition records.
- Support educational programs and provide assistance during events, which may include occasional evenings and weekends.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree in art, art history, museum studies, arts administration, education, or a related field.
- Must be a recent college graduate from the Class of 2024, 2025, or 2026.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Interest in contemporary art and public engagement.
