The Conservation Education Internship for Fall 2026 offers students the opportunity to work alongside education staff to gain practical experience in instructional techniques and program development. Interns will engage in various areas, including in-park interpretation, conservation programming, and community outreach. At the start of the term, interns will select a specific position to shadow based on their personal interests.
What you'll do#
- Receive training in effective instructional techniques for interpretation.
- Develop community conservation engagement events.
- Complete a demonstration project focused on conservation education or program development.
- Participate in at least one service-learning project.
- Attend professional development sessions designed specifically for interns.
- Perform physical duties including walking throughout the park, lifting equipment up to 50 lbs, and navigating stairs or ladders.
What you'll need#
- Current college or university student status or graduation within the past year.
- Ability to work 20 to 24 hours per week for the 12-week duration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and maintain rapport with staff and guests.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must pass a background check and TB test.
- Preferred fields of study include Biology, Environmental Engineering, Psychology, Communications, Public Health, Business Administration, Agriculture, or Sociology.

- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. The organization does not provide transportation, housing, or a stipend.
