CSAP is seeking an EAL Teacher to support students within the Nova Scotia International Student Program. This is a contract position requiring 8-12 hours of work per week. The role is remote and conducted via Google Classroom.
What you'll do#
- Teach virtual EAL classes to students in grades 7-12.
- Provide tutoring to students with low English proficiency.
- Develop and implement lesson plans designed to improve reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
- Report directly to the Assistant Executive Director.
- Complete a satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check and Criminal Record Check.
What you'll need#
- A valid Teaching Certificate recognized by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development or EAL qualifications recognized by TESL Canada.
- Previous experience teaching EAL in Canada or abroad.
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Experience with virtual EAL instruction and Google Classroom.
- Educational background in English, Communications, Psychology, or International Relations.
Location & details#
- Location: Remote (based in Truro, NS).
- Term: Winter 2027 (September 21, 2026 – June 11, 2027).
- Compensation: $31 per hour.
