The Standards Intern for Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change is an entry-level position that provides an opportunity to contribute to organizational strategic goals. You will work across various sectors to support programs focused on environmental and natural resource standards. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Provide project management, analytical, and technical support for standards research projects.
- Coordinate committee meetings, including agenda preparation, logistics, and post-meeting follow-up on action items.
- Compile content for standards from various sources and collaborate with project managers and editorial staff to prepare high-quality drafts.
- Assist in the development of standards proposals, including conducting research and analysis.
- Propose resources and schedules for projects and make recommendations to project managers.
- Ensure committee membership remains current and balanced according to company directives, assisting with recruitment as needed.
- Maintain compliance with standards development policies, including accreditation and copyright requirements.
- Support the internal community platform and coordinate with other departments involved in the standards publication process.
What you'll need#
- Completion of an undergraduate program, preferably in a technical field such as Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Public Health, or Political Science.
- Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate and network with diverse groups.
- High degree of self-motivation, initiative, and adaptability.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing, presentation software, and spreadsheets.
- Experience working with volunteers or multi-stakeholder groups is considered an asset.
- Fluency in French is required for the Montreal office; fluency in English is required for all other locations.

- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $34.86 - $45.75 CAD per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
