The NAMS-2 Intern will integrate directly into an active NASA project, contributing to initiatives across fields such as Air Traffic Management, Advanced Technology Systems, AI, LLM, Quantum Computing, Nanoelectronics, and Advanced Software. This role provides an opportunity to impact technical disciplines including engineering, computer science, and human-computer interaction.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research and analysis on assigned projects within your technical discipline.
- Validate findings and document results with attention to detail.
- Identify emerging industry trends relevant to aerospace and aviation technology.
- Create designs and technical solutions for practical applications.
- Write and develop code for software applications in aviation and air traffic management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or pursuit of a college degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Demonstrated work history showing reliability and commitment.
- Experience or coursework in aerospace, aviation, software development, or advanced technology systems.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Submission of a one-page essay describing a personal challenge overcome and interest in contributing to NASA's mission.

- Location: Mountain View, California.
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment: Full-time internship.
- Compensation: $730/week (approximately $18.25/hour).
- Term: Rolling.
