About the role#
Corteva Agriscience offers a paid co-op program for engineering students to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. This program is designed to integrate classroom knowledge with practical work, allowing students to collaborate with experienced professionals and evaluate Corteva as a potential full-time employer. Students are expected to work a minimum of two co-op terms prior to graduation.
What you'll do#
As a co-op student, you will provide support for production engineers in a manufacturing plant. Your responsibilities include:
- Work in a team environment that leverages the resources of a large organization.
- Develop an understanding of the manufacturing environment.
- Work with experienced manufacturing and engineering professionals.
- Create operating discipline and provide training to operations personnel.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing processes and solve problems.
- Collect and analyze process data to document capabilities and asset utilization.
- Identify process limitations and waste reduction opportunities, then propose or implement strategies to address them.
- Manage or execute small expense projects to improve plant operating efficiency.
- Document expected responses to process control alarms.
- Generate process knowledge to improve product quality, energy efficiency, and production rates.
- Participate in and improve plant Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHS&S) programs.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student in an ABET-accredited engineering program.
- Major in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum GPA of 3.00.
- Legal right to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without restrictions.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database experience.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Provide your own transportation to and from the work location for each assignment.
