The Flint Animal Cancer Center at Colorado State University is seeking a Laboratory Researcher for a part-time, temporary, non-student hourly position. This role supports research in comparative cancer biology and immunotherapy, focusing on translational applications between veterinary and human medicine. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of a postdoctoral fellow on canine cancer immunology and immunotherapy studies.
What you'll do#
- Conduct laboratory research in cancer immunology, including mammalian cell culture, immunological assays, and experimental procedures.
- Operate and analyze data from advanced instrumentation, including flow cytometry and confocal microscopy.
- Maintain detailed research records, including experimental protocols and data collection.
- Support laboratory operations such as stocking supplies, preparing reagents, washing glassware, and managing sterilization.
- Collaborate with the research team to maintain a safe laboratory environment and adhere to regulatory standards.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Immunology, or a closely related field.
- Prior laboratory experience in cancer biology, immunology, or immunotherapy research.
- Basic proficiency with laboratory techniques, specifically sterile technique and data recording.
- Preferred: Experience in veterinary medicine or comparative oncology, and familiarity with flow cytometry, microscopy, or cell culture.
