This is a temporary, full-time student position for the Summer 2026 term. As an Associate Site Reliability Specialist, you will focus on maintaining the reliability, scalability, and health of software systems. You will work within the IT-Solutions Delivery team to ensure applications operate smoothly and provide an excellent user experience.
What you'll do#
- Monitor system performance and availability, taking immediate action to rectify identified issues.
- Respond to incidents, including batch jobs, message queues, system integration components, and user-reported issues, following predefined procedures.
- Analyze the root causes of incidents and implement fixes to prevent future occurrences.
- Develop tools to monitor the ecosystem and enable self-diagnosis.
- Build effective monitoring and alerts to discover errors.
- Adopt and improve best practices for system reliability and performance.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Data Science.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
- Knowledge of system administration and managing production environments.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools to track performance and identify errors.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies, such as Docker.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and infrastructure-as-code tools is considered an asset.

- Locations: Guelph, Mississauga, and Toronto, Ontario.
- Modality: Hybrid (2 days per week in office).
- Duration: 5 months.
- Compensation: $22 - $28 per hour.
- Employment is subject to a background check.
