Medical Library Intern

About the role#

As a Medical Library Intern at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, you will gain hands-on experience within a large academic health system. You will work under the guidance of experienced librarians to support clinical care, education, and research. This role provides exposure to medical librarianship, including cataloging, electronic resources, interlibrary loan, and reference services.

What you'll do#

• Conduct literature research and assist with information requests from clinicians and researchers.
• Support instructional and outreach activities.
• Maintain the collection of electronic library resources.
• Contribute to special projects and assist department personnel with administrative and technical tasks.
• Research, compile, and analyze data for departmental matters.
• Prepare reports, draft policies, and respond to information requests.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a college program.
• Preferred: Current enrollment in a Master’s degree program for Library Information Science.
• Ability to discuss and weigh the pros and cons of critical issues.
• Ability to make definitive choices, express opinions, and explain the logical path of your decisions.
• Majors considered include Logistics, Communications, Public Health, Health Administration, and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
